Seasonal Position – Purchasing & Production (Mushroom Season: July 1–October 31, 2026)

Wermlands Skogsförråd AB in Kil is a family-owned company that operates in the wild mushroom and berry sectors, runs a retail store, and provides contracting services. During the fall, the mushroom business is a central part of the company’s operations; we purchase raw materials from a large number of private individuals and deliver them to customers in Sweden and internationally.
We are currently looking for two seasonal employees who would like to work in both purchasing and production from July 1 through October 31.
About the Role
This is a combined role in which you’ll work with both purchasing and operations in the cold storage and production areas. The work is varied and scheduled based on need—some days you’ll work with purchasing, and others with production and packaging.
Purchasing Responsibilities:
- Receive and evaluate incoming mushrooms in accordance with guidelines
- Record Purchases in the Business System
- Process payments according to established procedures
- Maintain daily contact with pickers and provide clear feedback
Production duties:
- Sorting and Packing Mushrooms
- Cold Chain and Supply Chain Management
- Internal Logistics and Materials Handling
- Cleaning and Sanitation
You’ll work at a fast pace alongside colleagues throughout the mushroom business.
Working hours:
- Schedule with variations between day, evening, and weekend shifts
- Included every other weekend
- Workdays can be flexible and end once the day’s workload has been completed
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who enjoys fast-paced, physically and socially demanding work.
Personal qualities:
- Good physical fitness (involves a lot of lifting and movement)
- Socially adept and confident when interacting with people
- Strong customer service orientation, especially when interacting with suppliers and order pickers
- Responsible and Reliable
- Able to work in a structured manner even under time pressure
- Enjoys both hands-on work and interacting with suppliers
Qualifications:
- Basic computer skills
- Fluency in Swedish (knowledge of English is a plus)
- A forklift license is a plus but not required
No prior knowledge of mushrooms is required—you’ll receive training before and during the season.
